The OaKs are a band worth being passionate about. We seek to get away from the narcissism that so often plagues the entertainment culture, indie-rock not excluded. Half of all the profits from the first album the band recorded (actually just Ryan and Matt, the founders) go to Global Hope Network, the organization that Ryan was associated with during his two year stay in Afghanistan, helping those in need.
But if you get the idea that The OaKs are a humanitarian band, you will surely sell us short. Humanitarianism in itself is awesome, but The OaKs are about so much more than that.
