About this album:
This is a collection of songs that I've written over the years. I recorded all the instruments myself, except for drums (thanks to Danny) and a tambourine (thanks to my wife). I somehow mixed them all in a room in our Gainesville apartment while working 2 jobs. Some of the songs are much older and have been lingering around in notebooks for a while, like "Reside." Others, like "Calloused," were written as I was recording. But they're not just a random smattering of music, there is a progression or overall narrative. The big idea is held up in large part by the "Excursion:..." tracks. One day soon (maybe) I'll write a little on the album as a whole, why songs made it on, why they are in their order, why the title, etc. But for now, trust that there was a thought process, however small it may be.
I tried to make this album thoughtful musically as well as lyrically and sometimes the music speaks more clearly than the words.
